I think the content is simplistic, but I do agree with the sentiment.  There’s a lot going on locally that you might disagree with if you knew about it.  Not everything at your county council meetings is about the recommended reading list at your local library or banned books.  There are many zoning and tax decisions being made that could affect you.  Maybe somebody wants to block a new liquor store from opening (the horror!).   

Learning about and understanding our local politics is one of the missions of Whiskey and Politics.  Look for your state/county/local district and use the links to see what’s going on around you.  We try to alert you to interesting upcoming agenda items.  Maybe you’ll agree with the proposed agenda, maybe you won’t.  The important thing is that you’ll know about it.

Transcend the digital divide.  Take the first step and attend a council meeting.  Come to a whiskey meet-up and connect with people in your area.  Join us at Whiskey and Politics.  You might learn something about your local government that could benefit you.  And, of course, it’s always good to learn more about whiskey.
